OK, so I am really sorry about the lack of updates. We moved to St. Louis on May 30th and have been without internet since about 2 weeks ago. Phil started his residency, and we see each other about an hour a day, and that is not until 8ish at night. We are in bed by 10pm, so I haven't really had the chance to do much picture taking or blogging. But, Phil is on call tonight and Max is in bed, so here are the details of our lives for the last 2 months.
Max is in daycare 3 days a week at a Montessori school that is 5 minutes up the road and on the way to my work. He loves it there. I drop him off and he immediately goes to the teachers and says "bye bye momma" and the blows me a kiss. When I pick him up, he drops everything he is doing and runs with mouth and arms wide open right into my arms. It is the best feeling ever! He has learned a lot of new words and is getting to be so smart. Often throughout the day I will say, "I love you", and he has started saying it back in his own little way. It sounds like I U, but it is so sweet because I know exactly what he means. His latest words are shoe, outside, juice, apple (which actually means waffle), wa wa (water), cookie, cheese, baby, woof woof or puppy, moo moo, bubbles, truck and duck(which both actually sound like "guck"). He points out every truck that he sees, and if we are at the grocery store and he doesn't get to ride in the cart that has the truck on it, he throws a complete fit. Today he was mad that I wouldn't let him play in the sink all afternoon, and the only way I could calm him down was to get all of his trucks out and act like they were crashing into each other and blowing up. He thought that was hysterical. He is such a boy! He loves all of the room we have in this new house because he can run around everywhere.
Phil likes his his residency and is learning a lot. The people are all very nice and down to earth. There has been a cookout almost every weekend since residency started, and everyone seems to get along great and have a lot of fun. He leaves the house between 5 and 5:30am and gets home between 7 and 8pm. It makes for a long day, but hopefully that will get better as the years go on.
I am working three 8 hour days at a small hospital that is 10 minutes from our house. It is a medical surgical unit that is a pilot unit for a new hospital that will be opening in March 2009. I really enjoy the 8 hour shifts (as compared to the 12 hours shifts), and the people I work with are all very nice. It is a very busy unit, so the time goes very fast and I stay very busy! On my days off, Max and I go to the local pool or the Magic House (which is kind of a children's museum that we became members at) or play outside (which is one of his favorite things to do)!
All in all, things are really good here. We are so happy with our house, and we are lucky to be so close to family and friends. Hopefully now that we are more settled and finally connected, I will be able to stay more in touch via this blog. Thanks for all of your support and please stay in touch with us!

Lake of the Ozarks 2008
We went on our annual trip to Lake of the Ozarks in June. This time we tried to take Max on the boat. You can see how much he enjoyed it. If he wasn't sleeping, he was screaming bloody murder. I think the life jacket was a little too bulky and probably not so comfy for him. He was much happier on land at the pool going down the water slide. See for yourself...

Moving moments
Max and Uncle Fred

Grandma and Max thought they would try to escape in the moving van. I don't think they would get too far!

So, one of the first couple days we were in our house, Phil and I were really busy trying to get things in their place. We always knew where Max was, but we didn't always have an eye on him. This is what we found when we turned around. The best part about it may be the t-shirt he is wearing.
